White Sands is our 160 acre privately owned conservation site in Putnam County, Florida, permitted through FWC’s Gopher Tortoise Recipient Site program. The preserve operates as both an active recipient site for qualifying relocation projects and a research site, with current studies in partnership with the University of Florida and FWC examining post-relocation outcomes and habitat management. Now accepting reservations for the upcoming active season.
